The IEEE student chapter of the University of Technology took part once again in a fierce programming battle involving other IEEE student members from around the world. On the 15th of March 2017, the members of the IEEE student branch participated in the annual SCIT day competition that was put on by the School of Computing and Information Technology at the University of Technology, Jamaica for their week of celebration and recognition of the faculty. IEEE SoutheastCon 2015 is winding to a close, but not without sharing the results of the Student Competitions.
IEEE UTech had already begun to taste success, having won a challenge in the Texas Instruments workshop (by a freshman...), as well as winning the SPAC challenge in the Student Leaders' workshop. As the results were announced, we found that we were awarded first place in the website competition, and placed second in the Instagram challenge!

Twelve persons - nine students and three faculty members - landed in Fort Lauderdale this evening in preparation for the 2015 IEEE SoutheastCon!
We've settled into our hotel and have begun final preparations for what is promising to be an exciting weekend!

IEEE Day was celebrated on October 7, 2014. Of course, IEEE UTech was out in full force! We had a booth in front of the Computing & IS block and had quite a spread. We had literature, we had magazines, we had robotics demonstrations, we had RC cars, we had software teams, hardware teams, and fielded questions for a good 4 hours.

IEEE SoutheastSon 2013 was attended by the likes of a number of renowned universities: Duke, Florida Southern University, Florida International University, Georgia Tech, Devry, University of Alabama, among many others. This didn't stand in the way of UTech's stellar performance, awarding us with a first place in the IEEE Ethics competition, and a third place in the IEEE Technical paper competition.

A ten-member team from the University of Technology, Jamaica, arrived in Jacksonville, Florida, to attend the 2013 IEEE Southeast Conference. The Conference is to be held at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront, beginning April 4, 2013, until April 7.
